AT&T signs IT services contract with MergerTree Solutions

A new contract has been signed by US telecomms holding company AT&T Inc (NYSE:T) with MergerTree Solutions LP (MergerTree), a technology managed services provider, based in Texas, USA.

AT&T said it will serve as the main provider under the three year contract, providing an IT services package which incorporates AT&T's network-based Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Virtual Private Network (VPN). It also includes AT&T's Enterprise Hosting services, an offsite AT&T Internet Data Center (IDC) and AT&T's Managed Internet Service (MIS) for MergerTree's locations across the region.

AT&T's MPLS VPN enables unified communications among regional locations and will provide increased bandwidth and redundancy for MergerTree's meshed MPLS network. The Enterprise Hosting services deliver an always-on data centre infrastructure, with the solution providing managed network security, redundancy and connectivity for data transfer, storage and processing.

AT&T's solution will provide a base for MergerTree to increase its Intranet security, with its IDC ensuring off-site data backup and recovery and the MIS supporting consistent and dedicated Internet and network access.
