CORPORATE IT UPDATE-(C)1995-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

A three year USD3.45m contract has been signed by US communications holding company AT&T Inc (NYSE:T) with J.R. Simplot (Simplot), a food and agribusiness corporation, which sought to move to a single source network provider to simplify IT requirements and work with its other main vendors.

AT&T said it will provide its OneNet voice services, Internet Protocol-enabled Frame Relay (IPeFR) and ATM network services for Simplot, under a single integrated agreement. It confirmed the renewed contract will supply voice, data and Internet solutions connecting Simplot's headquarters with its 150 domestic locations and three international locations.

AT&T confirmed the solution will carry Simplot's data on its MPLS-based network and will connect all of Simplot's locations under a common IP-based architecture, offering security, flexibility and high-bandwidth communications.

According to AT&T it will employ the MPLS backbone across its network, improving bandwidth efficiencies for Simplot's manufacturing and production sites. It will also provide its Network-Based IP VPN Remote Access Service (ANIRA) for primary application support for Simplot's field sales teams, along with AT&T aircards for Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) wireless broadband services.
