Software provider Novell, Inc (Nasdaq: NOVL) announced on Thursday (15 March) that the high-availability storage infrastructure in SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 from Novell is now available for business software provider SAP NetWeaver and mySAP Business Suite.
According to the company, the SUSE Linux Enterprise high-availability storage infrastructure features clustering software that monitors the status of various parts of an enterprise system, including SAP applications, and initiates fail-over to redundant servers in case of problems such as hardware failure. Integrated components of the storage infrastructure are said to include the open source Oracle Cluster File System 2, a parallel cluster file system, and Enterprise Volume Management System 2, a cluster-aware volume manager. The high-availability storage infrastructure coordinates cluster-wide activities to ensure reliable administration of storage resources for shared-disk-based clusters, the company claims.
