Albany Software, an e-transaction software provider, announced on Thursday (15 November) the launch of 'e-Payment for Microsoft Office Accounting, powered by AlbanySoftware'.

According to the company, Albany's Bacs technology (AlbanyePAYMENTS) allows the online payment functionality embedded within the new version of Microsoft Office Accounting (MOA).

AlbanyePAYMENTS reportedly helps small businesses reduce time-consuming manual payment processes, effectively managing all accounts, tax, payroll and invoices. It isolates the financial data stored in MOA relating to payment, and transmits it to Bacs for onward payment processing. This component creates the connection between Microsoft's accounting solution and the financial clearing house, enabling automated electronic payments.

No financial details were disclosed.
