CORPORATE IT UPDATE-(C)1995-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Fujitsu Siemens Computers, a European IT provider, announced on Thursday (22 November) a package of proactive and reactive maintenance and support services for blade servers.

According to the company, the SolutionContract BladeFrame services package contains remote support as well as scheduled maintenance for the blade system and virtualisation software, based on the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standard. Customers can gain improved uptime of business-critical systems, as well as a dedicated technical account manager as a central point of contact for all their support needs.

The proactive service components can reportedly increase the availability and efficiency of BladeFrame systems, as regular system health checks and patch management can identify adverse system conditions at an early stage. In addition, SolutionContract BladeFrame provides reactive services with pre-defined response, arrival-on-site and system recovery times, and includes problem diagnostics via remote access, as well as hardware and software troubleshooting measures.

In addition, the company offers further support services, such as performance analyses and optimisation, configuration changes and the installation of software updates.

No pricing details were disclosed.
