CORPORATE IT UPDATE-(C)1995-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

AT&T Inc (NYSE:T), a communications holding company, reported on Thursday (11 October) a new contract with food product manufacturer Bruce Foods Corp to provide voice and data network services for Bruce Foods' four manufacturing plants in Louisiana, North Carolina and Texas.

The contract, which was signed for three years, means that AT&T will act as the primary provider of network and data services for Bruce Foods, installing AT&T's Managed Internet Service (MIS) and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)-based Virtual Private Network (VNP).

The food product manufacturer will benefit from a private network, accessible from any of its branches, and an enhanced bandwidth. Also the VPN solution will mean that Bruce Foods' regional network sites will be able to remain in contact even if one site goes off-line, as happened during hurricanes Rita and Katrina two years ago.

No financial terms of the contract were disclosed.
