Ingres partners announces strategic relationship with Business Objects

Ingres Corp, a business open source software company, created as part of a partnership between CA Inc (NYSE: CA) and Garnett & Helfrich Capital, announced on Monday (15 October) a strategic relationship with Business Objects (Nasdaq: BOBJ), a provider of business intelligence solutions.

Under the terms of the partnership, Ingres will integrate its enterprise-grade open source database with the Business Objects Edge Series. The integrated BI solution is expected to provide mid-market companies with significant cost savings. Ingres has worked with Business Objects to deliver performance, compatibility and an integrated installation, the company said.

The solutions will be offered in the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific and Japan in 12 languages.

No financial or pricing details were disclosed.
