IBM announces IBM Lotus Symphony document sharing / creation suite

Information technology company IBM (NYSE:IBM) is releasing IBM Lotus Symphony, a suite of software tools for creating and sharing documents, spreadsheets and presentations.

According to the company, Lotus Symphony includes Lotus Symphony Documents, Lotus Symphony Spreadsheets and Lotus Symphony Presentations, and supports Windows and Linux desktops. The suite, which has been designed to handle the majority of typical office productivity tasks, supports multiple file formats including Microsoft Office and Open Document Format, and can also output content in PDF format.

The tools can be downloaded at no charge, the company said.
