Open Text Corporation (NASDAQ: OTEX)(TSX: OTC), an independent provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software, introduced on Friday (15 February) Exceed Freedom 2008, the newest member of the Exceed product family from Hummingbird, the Open Text Connectivity Solutions Group.
According to the company, Exceed Freedom 2008, an add-on to Exceed 2008, enables users to collaborate on projects in real-time. The solution includes new UNIX desktop sharing capabilities, allowing users to securely share their UNIX desktop environments and applications with others, irrespective of their location.

The product enables mobile workers to suspend and resume their UNIX application environments, so that users can gain access to the same UNIX desktop and applications from any location, and preserves users' work in progress, keeping data alive in the event of a sudden loss of power or network connection.
The solution reportedly helps organisations to improve communication efficiency, reduce unproductive wait time, and accelerate business development and processes.
Exceed Freedom 2008 will be available in March, 2008. No pricing details were disclosed.
