Novell introduces identity and security management solutions for SAP

Novell Inc (Nasdaq: NOVL), a provider of infrastructure software, has announced its comprehensive and integrated platform of identity and security management solutions optimized for use with the SAP NetWeaver platform and SAP business software applications from business software provider SAP.

According to the company, Novell offers six solutions integrated to fit into the SAP enterprise solution-based environment: Novell Identity and Security Management for Small and Medium Enterprises; Novell Enterprise Security Monitoring for SAP Solution-based Environment; Novell Identity Management for SAP Solution-based Environment; Novell Access Management and Identity Federation for SAP Solution-based Environment; Novell Enterprise Single Sign-on for SAP Solution-based Environment; and Novell Physical and Logical Security Convergence for SAP Solution-based Environment.

The new identity and security management solutions will reportedly provide SAP customers with access to flexible policy management and enforcement capabilities, enabling them to reduce administrative costs, automate error-prone manual processes and simplify password management.

In addition, SAP and Novell announced a collaboration within the SAP Enterprise Services Community program, hosted by SAP, to strengthen customers' governance, risk and compliance practices by supporting business access risk policies to user provisioning activities.
