Qwest selected by NASA for voice and data services

CORPORATE IT UPDATE-(C)1995-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Qwest Communications International Inc (NYSE:Q) announced on Thursday (23 October) that it has been selected by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to provide a range of voice and data services in a contract valued at USD18m.

Using its voice and data services Qwest will connect the agency's centres and facilities across the US including the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, the Marshall Space Flight Center in Alabama, the Johnson Space Center in Texas and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California.

The award was made to Qwest Government Services in Arlington, VA, under its Networx Universal contract, which is part of the US General Services Administration's Networx program.

The company said that the term of the contract award is 9 years.
