Hey, Atlanta's Not so Bad

Cable World, March 20, 2000

Scientific-Atlanta isn't messing around when it comes to job recruitment. The company issued a press release via PR Newswire last week announcing it's searching for 200 engineers and marketers "who want to help create the next generation of services that can be delivered to the television."

Does this mean it's hard to get people to Atlanta? The release talks about "Silicon Valley-style innovations" i.e. motion-sensitive lighting in hallways, outdoor laptop plug-ins, and the campus baseball field, picnic pavilion, volleyball courts and an onsite credit union.

Wow! We still think the true measure of Silicon Valley-style is a Foosball table on every floor.
