BOX CUT

The Box Music Network, the 24-hour interactive music channel, is teaming with Columbia Records on the channel's new programming concept, "Final Cut." Debuting on the Box, this concept, taking a page from the movie industry, will seek viewer feedback about two versions of the "Thug Angels" video from Wyclef Jean's forthcoming album, The Ecleftic -- Two Sides of a Book, which will be released in July. Columbia and the Box will evaluate viewer input, gathered from orders of the video, voting through a toll-free phone line, and responses to sonymusic.com and thebox.com and other online sources, to determine which video version will be released nationally to all video outlets, including the Box, April 24.

BEACH BLAST

FX has ordered seven more episodes of comedy series Son of the Beach, from the Howard Stern Production Co. FX originally ordered six episodes of the Baywatch spoof, starring Tim Stack, the last of which is scheduled to air April 18 at 10:30 p.m. The show, the most successful original program in the network's history, will go on hiatus until the seven new episodes begin their first run in late summer. "Son of the Beach has been a strong addition to the FX schedule" said president Peter Liquori. "The show has exceeded our expectations ... "
