NBA TV SCORES FREE THROW

Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Cablevision agreed to provide a free preview of NBA TV's coverage of the 2003 NBA playoffs, including up to seven playoff games during the first round. The preview will last until April 30. In addition to live game coverage, the free preview offers viewers behind-the-scenes footage from the locker rooms, post-game and off-day live studio shows and vintage NBA games.

MTV ROCKS THE HEIGHTS

MTV plans to begin production of a musical version of Wuthering Heights next month. The movie is scheduled to appear on the network in the third quarter. Jim Steinman, who collaborated with Meat Loaf on Bat Out of Hell, will executive produce the film and provide original songs that will be performed by Erika Christensen, Mike Vogel and Chris Masterson, the movie's stars.

TIMES SQUARE SALUTE

As part of the Times Square Project: Stop Violence Against Women, Lifetime Television will air weekly salutes to people and organizations fighting violence against women. Other companies participating in the project are NASDAQ, Liz Claiborne Inc., CNBC, Wrigley's and Reuters.

'BULL' FOR BOB COSTAS

The season premiere of HBO's On the Record With Bob Costas on May 2 will feature a discussion with the stars and writer of Bull Durham, which marks its 15th anniversary. The president of the Baseball Hall of Fame canceled plans to celebrate the film's anniversary in Cooperstown because of concerns that stars Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins would voice their antiwar opinions at the event.

GOODLIFE LAUNCHES SERIES

GoodLife TV Network on May 4 plans to launch an original series, American Family, focusing on major family issues. Hosted by former ABC News senior correspondent Dr. Bettina Gregory, the first episode addresses the adoption of American and foreign-born children.

N'S TEEN PREGNANCY SPECIAL

The N, Noggin's nighttime network for teens, and the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy teamed up for a special episode of A Walk in Your Shoes. The episode will air May 7.
