USA, PGA Tour Go Fore Tix Deal

Cable World, May 1, 2000 by Rani Long

USA Networks, Inc. and PGA Tour have partnered through USA's Electronic Commerce and Services division to designate the company's Ticketmaster division as the official ticketing company of both the PGA Tour and Senior PGA Tour.

Donna Orender, PGA Tour SVP-television, productions and new media, says the Tour is enthusiastic that USA's Electronic Commerce and Services division "will provide our tournaments with a national ticketing and promotion platform, local reach, database marketing and contextual commerce programming."

Examples of these initiatives are online ticket sales, PGA Tour-related merchandise, local and national promotion of Tour events through citysearch.com guide sites as well as ticketmaster.com and USA Web sites. The multi-year deal also marks the first time the PGA Tour has entered an exclusive ticketing agreement on a national scale.
