IFC TAKES VIEWERS TO CANNES
Independent Film Channel will cover the opening and closing ceremonies of the Cannes International Film Festival live on May 15 and May 25. In between, the network will run a selection of movies from past festivals, including Requiem for a Dream, Barton Fink and The Hudsucker Proxy.
LIFETIME PICKS UP DRAMAS
Lifetime picked up two new prime-time drama series: 1-800 Missing, starring Gloria Reuben, and Wild Card, starring Joely Fisher. The shows are set to premiere August 2003. They may be added to Lifetime's Sunday night lineup or be part of a new original night of programming on Saturdays.

Oxygen said original shows will occupy 50% of its prime-time schedule next year. The network dropped Candice Bergen's show, but is adding six new comedies. Oxygen is also co-producing its first original movie, a romantic comedy called A Tale of Two Wives starring Peter Gallagher and Cheryl Hines.
NEW SLOGAN FOR WE
WE: Women's Entertainment this month launches a new branding campaign using the slogan "Live, Love, Laugh." The B-52s and Lucy Woodward have created original songs for the campaign.
SOAPNET ON RED CARPET
SoapNet will broadcast a live one-hour special from the red carpet outside the Daytime Emmy Awards hosted by All My Children's Finola Hughes and Walt Willey May 16 at 7 p.m.
NICK THROWS SLUMBER PARTY
While Cartoon Network aims to attract older viewers with Adult Swim, Nickelodeon will fish for smaller fry with its Sleepover Jam on May 17. From 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Nick will show sleep-themed episodes of its cartoons including premiere episodes of Jimmy Neutron and Fairly OddParents. The Sleepover will be hosted by the cast of All That and sponsored by Kraft.
STARZ SIGNS CABLE ONE DEAL
Cable One signed a long-term affiliation and carriage agreement with Starz Encore Group. Cable One will offer the Starz Super Pak for $11.95 to 52 systems and 719,300 basic subscribers.
