A Super Saturday in Jacksonville

Cable World,  Feb 21, 2005

Inspiration Networks' i-Lifetv (short for Inspirational Life Television) hosted a faith-based tailgate party in Jacksonville, Fla., on Super Bowl weekend. As part of its public affairs partnership with Missouri-based charity Convoy of Hope, the cable-exclusive digital network brought four trucks brimming with humanitarian aid to a Feb. 5 event held in Jacksonville's inner city. Approximately 2,000 volunteers, including folks from Comcast's local system, connected those in need with groceries, job assistance, haircuts and dental exams. The Inspiration Networks and Convoy of Hope have also been providing relief and reconstruction assistance to Sri Lanka in the wake of the tsunami. -- Shirley Brady
