Original Programming Gets Plenty of Buzz at Critics Tour

The Television Critics Association Tour kicked off last week with an $11 billion bang - representing the massive investment cable networks made in the last year in original programming.

In addition to a luncheon promoting cable's commitment to high-definition programming, more than 36 networks previewed the best of what they have coming up for the journalists assembled in Hollywood to check out their stuff. Among the shows generating ink and buzz at TCA:

* The AMC Project: Hollywood and the Muslim World on AMC

* Beverly Hills Vet on Animal Planet

* 3 Non-Blondes, British comediennes coming to BBC America

* Nefertiti Resurrected on the Discovery Channel

* Buff Brides on Discovery Health Channel

* The Cheetah Girls, original movie at Disney Channel

* Dream Job, offering aspiring sportscasters a one-year hosting gig on ESPN

* National Lam-poon's Funny Money on Game Show Network
