Discovery Networks president of ad sales Joe Abruzzese said he expects to announce the reorganization of his department this week. Abruzzese joined Discovery in October from CBS and a month later Scott McGraw followed him as EVP.... The inaugural meeting of the NCTA's customer service committee - chaired by Charter Communications president and CEO Carl Vogel - takes place Wednesday in Manhattan....

Microsoft Corp. landed its first two interactive guide deployments last week, signing on Oregon operators Uvision LLC and Willamette Broadband LLC as affiliates.... Network ad sales pioneer H. Weller (Jake) Keever died Nov. 28 at 75 of cancer in New Canaan, Conn.... Qwest is using hybrid fiber-coaxial architecture and advanced cable modem delivery in Omaha, Neb., not VDSL technology, as was reported in the Dec. 2 issue. The telco is using VDSL to deliver video programming in parts of Phoenix, Denver and Boulder, Colo.
