MAGGIE BELLVILLE was named to the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation's board of directors. A partner at executive search firm Carter- Baldwin (and a CableWorld contributor), she was formerly COO of Charter.

FRANKLIN R. BOWERS will add lobbying responsibilities in his role as president of Cox Virginia Telcom; he will continue his duties as region VP and GM for Cox in Hampton Roads, Va. Bowers plans to retire at the end of the year.

BERNICE CHU to VP-business development, National Geographic Ventures, from VP-business and legal affairs for the Playboy Entertainment Group.

The Cable Center inducts seven notables into its Hall of Fame, Oct. 11, in Denver: Decker Anstrom, Viacom founder Ralph Baruch, Chambers Comm.'s Carolyn Chambers, Judy McGrath, Jim Robbins, Brian Roberts and HBO's Robert Zitter.

Topping NCTA's Vanguard winners list is MTVN CEO Judy McGrath and Time Warner Cable CEO Glenn Britt. Also picking up honors: Cox No. Virginia public affairs VP Kathryn Falk, Court TV CEO Henry Schleiff, NCTA's Paul Glist, Time Warner Cable CTO Mike LaJoie, Charter Western SVP Eric Brown, Cox Enterprises public policy SVP Alex Netchvolodoff and Comcast operations EVP Dave Watson.

COX BATON ROUGE AND VH1, GOOD SPORTS

CTPAA named Cox Baton Rouge as the recipient of this year's ESPN Good Sports Award, given to a project that generates outstanding community involvement through education and athletics. Cox's "Football, Food and Families" campaign collected more than 32,000 pounds of nonperishable food items to help feed the hungry in hurricane-ravaged south Louisiana. Also on CTPAA's honor roll is VH1, winner of this year's Joel A. Berger Award for "VH1 and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis-A Partnership." The award honors a public affairs campaign that promotes AIDS awareness.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT

CTPAA tapped AETN's Dr. Libby O'Connell, Lifetime's Meredith Wagner, Adelphia's Paul Jacobson and Bright House Networks' Al Aldridge for its third annual Public Affairs Achievement Awards.
