Puleva profits rise 44% on Leyma acquisition - Brief Article

Spanish dairy group Puleva has reported a 43.6% increase in net profits for 1999 to Pta4.6bn (??27.6m), helped by a nine month contribution from the Leyma dairy acquired in April (see Eurofood, 26 April 1999, p10). Under Puleva's management, Leyma registered profits of Pta850m, compared to losses in the previous period.

Puleva's turnover during the year was ahead 18.5% at Pta33.8bn, while operating profits rose 30.8% to Pta2.6bn.
