Migros Turk on a fast growth track - Brief Article

Turkey's fast expanding Migros Turk supermarket chain reported 1999 turnover of ??1.02bn and unveiled new plans for growth at home and abroad. Now operating 324 supermarkets in a market of some 65 million consumers, Migros Turk plans to open some three supermarkets a week across the country. The group also said its foreign Ram stores would grow from the current 12 to 20, mostly in Eastern Europe.

Through its retail operations at home and abroad, Migros sees overall revenues up by an impressive 27% in 2000.
