Consolidated turnover at Bonduelle, the French vegetable processor, increased by 5.9% to FF5.508bn (??839.7m) in 1999, compared with ??793.4m the previous year. On a like-for-like basis, turnover rose by 4.1%. Bonduelle expects to report net profits for 1999 in the region of ??13.3m, corresponding to a 15% improvement.

In the fourth quarter of 1999 alone, turnover rose by 15.9% (or 9.5% on a like for like basis) to ??235.83m. Throughout the year, the canned vegetable division saw sales rise by 2.6% to FF3.254bn, while frozen activities improved by 6.3% and sales of fresh products climbed an impressive 25%.
