Delhaize sees growth in Eastern Europe - Brief Article

Belgian retailer Delhaize "Le Lion" reported an increase in turnover both at home and abroad last year. Group sales rose by 10.9% to ??14.3bn, with the strongest growth coming from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, where combined sales at the Delvita subsidiary in those two countries rose 43% to ??341m.

Turnover climbed by 14.9% to ??479.3m in Greece, while in Belgium and Luxembourg sales rose by just 4.6% to ??3bn. Delhaize America reported turnover up by 6.5% to ??10.3bn.
