Kraft Foods North America, the food subsidiary of Philip Morris, has announced a new management structure, which it hopes will give the company a more streamlined approach to business. A new management committee has been set up, which will be chaired by the president and CEO of Kraft Foods North America, Betsy Holden.
MAJOR DECISION MAKING BODY
This new medium will determine the future direction of the group and represents the major decision making body in the company. Holden said, "this new structure will further streamline the organisation and create a more focused approach to the strategic direction of the business". Upon completion of the integration of Nabisco, the relevant management team members will also join this committee.

PERSONNEL CHANGES
In light of the, management changes there have been a number of personnel changes, including Irene Rosenfeld, currently group vice president Kraft Foods and president of Kraft Canada and operations and technology, who will oversee the integration of Nabisco and Kraft Foods. NEW PRODUCTION SITE IN RUSSIA?
Meanwhile in Europe, the company is contemplating building a new factory in Russia. The new production line is being earmarked to produce crisps. Work on the new US$25m site could start mid-way through next year, and would take in around 40 000 tonnes of potatoes a year. Kraft Foods has been operating Russia for several years.
