Elikom invests in chocolate production - Brief Article

Russian food producer Elikom has invested a total of US$2m (2.1m [European Dollar]) into chocolate production at the Konfael-based factory in the Moscow region.

According to Irina Eldarkhanova, general director at the firm, the factory began producing chocolate in February of 2001, and Elikom's capacity is estimated at 2 000 tonnes of chocolate annually. Eldarkhanova said Elikom also plans to construct a second production line at the factory, an investment US$5m, taking its capacity to 3 000t. Construction could start at the end of 2001 and may be concluded in 2003. Elikom plans to open several company stores in Moscow at the end of March and over the next three years aims develop a network of stores throughout Russia's leading regions. Investment into the company's trade network according to Eldarkhanova will total nearly US$1m.
