Shop on the move - Tesco's contract with Microsoft Corp - Brief Article

Eurofood, August 2, 2001

Following a deal with US software giant Microsoft, UK supermarket Tesco has increased accessibility of its online shopping services.

Now customers can shop at Tesco's online through Pocket PC's and Smartphones, enabling Tesco to reach more than 90% of the online UK population.

Tesco.com chief executive officer John Browett said, "Before this, customers were restricted as to where they could do their shopping. Now if they own a Pocket PC, they're able to shop on the move."
