Israeli food company G. Willi-Food International has released its unaudited financial results for the second quarter and first half ended 30 June 2001, revealing mixed results.
For the second quarter, G.Willi-Food saw sales rise by 3% to NiS30m (7.7m [European Dollar]), up from NiS29.2m a year earlier. Gross profit for the period was also up, by 9% to NiS9.7m compared to NiS8.9m in Q2 2000. Operating income was up 12% to NiS4.8m compared to NiS4.1m last year.

For the half-year point however, G.Willi-Food saw sales drop by 8% to NiS67.4m from NiS73m at the half-way stage last year. Gross profit stood at NiS18.5% compared to NiS20.6%, a decline of 10%. Operating income in H! was NiS9.3m down 17% from NiS11.1 m. Net income was down 17% at NiS6.3m from NiS7.6m.
