UK-food retailer Inter Link Foods has released its interim results for the six-month period ended 31 October, revealing a 26.6% rise in turnover to [pound]6.73m ([euro]7.14m). The group, which currently runs four businesses, Crossfield Foods, Lisa Bakery, Maid Marian Bakeries and Newton House Bakery, also saw its operating profit rise from [pound]514 000 in 1999 to [pound]797 000, an increase 55.1%.
Inter Link Foods produces a variety ofproducts, including chocolate mini-rolls, fruit pies and other baked goods. Inter Link also has an option to acquire the trading assets of the William Lusty Group, a producer of cakes and other products which it supplies to national outlets including food service and wholesale sectors. Inter Link said that its trading position has been improving, and if this continues then it may well exercise this option. Inter Link Foods employs some 350 people.
