Eurofood, Feb 1, 2001
Consumers in New Zealand are now able to order drinks, chocolate, ice cream even beers along with their pizzas, reports the New Zealand Evening Post.
Restaurant Brands, which operates Pizza Hut, as well as KFC and Starbucks chains in New Zealand ran a pilot in the Auckland area before Christmas. Having proved successful, it is hoped the service will be available throughout Wellington by the middle of this year. Customers are able to order drinks, including alcoholic beverages, but only if they order pizza as well.

Over the first six months of the pilot service, around 20% of people in New Zealand ordered wine or beer with their meals. However, to combat under-age drinking, photo identification is required upon delivery for meals accompanied with alcohol.
