Greenpeace joins food industry - Brief Article

Eurofood, Feb 1, 2001

Greenpeace will license a line of 12 organic products in Brazil, Agence France Presse reports. In an announcement, the activist group said that the products would promote a healthy environment and charged that conventional farming practices cause damage to natural resources and result in food with dangerous chemical residues.

The group will license organic products, under the trademark 'Ecolinea,' through Univalem. The products will be certified by IBD (Instituto Biodinamico) and include sugar, coffee, vinegar, olive oil, confectionery, jam, juices, rice and flour.
