Cadbury wine gum production - Cadbury Schweppes invests in its plant in Spain - Brief Article - Statistical Data Included

UK-based confectionery giant Cadbury Schweppes is to concentrate the production of wine gums at its Valladolid site in Spain, news which will see an investment of Pta200m and some 150 jobs created. Cadbury Dulciora has three plants in Spain, one in Ateca near Zaragoza, another at Alcoy, near Alicante, and the Valladolid site, where its central offices are located. Annual sales at Cadbury Dulciora reach some Ptal2bn, of which 33% comes from exports.

With the Valladolid site concentrating on gum, the Ateca site produces caramel treats such as Respiral, and the chocolates Huesitos. Alcoy is dedicated to producing Nimbos sweets. The workforce at Cadbury Dulciora is around 500 employees, with 282 situated in Valladolid.
