Eurofood, March 29, 2001

Danish firm Danisco has said it is still looking to offload its packaging unit Danisco Flexible, following news that the firm's nine-month profits have dropped by 13%.

Earnings before interest, tax and amortisation (EBITA) at Dansico for the said period fell to DKr1.715bn (229.7m [European Dollar]), with the losses made by Danisco Flexible impacting on these figures.

Alf Duch-Pedersen, chief executive at Danisco said, "We are still looking for a partner or a buyer for packaging unit Danisco Flexible."

UK-based Danisco-Pack is also expected to be sold off some time this year.
