Eurofood, Oct 11, 2001
Following its acquisition by Greencore earlier this year in January, UK convenience food group Hazelwood Foods has made changes to the structure of its business.
As of 1 October 2001, Hazelwood will see its activities split into two divisions of grocery and chilled foods. The grocery business will include sauces, pickles, dressings, whereas the chilled foods division will produce ready meals, sandwiches, pizzas and chilled sauces.
Hazelwood Food chief executive Peter Woodall said, "We believe that the new structure will bring substantial benefits to our customers by focusing our category development."
