Tholstrup report decline in H1 profit - first half of 2001 - Brief Article

Eurofood, Oct 11, 2001

Danish cheese producer Tholstrup Cheese has reported an operating profit of Dkr12m (1.6m [European Dollar]) for the first half of 2001, down from Dkr26m in the corresponding period of 2000, reports Borsen.

Tholstrup attributed the decline to rising raw materials costs in Denmark and the US and a 12% jump in sales, distribution and administration costs. Turnover during the six-month period grew by 4% to Dkr422m.

Tholstrup has revised down its full-year profit forecast and now expects its operating surplus to be in line with the 2000 figure of just under Dkr55m.
