Eurofood, Sept 27, 2001

Hungarian bakery wholesaler Bako Hungary is hoping to turn over HF3.2bn (12.7m [European Dollar]) this year.

In recent years, the Hungarian subsidiary of German parent company Bako - Central and Southern Germany has posted annual growth of at least 13%.

While celebrating the ten-year anniversary of the company arriving on the Hungarian market, German economics minister Walter Doring said that the cooperation between parent company and subsidiary was a "symbol of the German-Hungarian partnership and of European unity".

From humble origins, the Hungarian company now employs 32 staff and has 1 500 clients.

It will soon have to move to a new site in order to allow for recent and future expansion, according to managing director Jnos Pataki.
