Eurofood, Sept 27, 2001

Fast food giant McDonald's intends to open twelve more restaurants in St. Petersburg, bringing the number to 20, according to a discussion between city governor Vladimir Yakovlev and the company's president for Russia Khamzat Khasbulatov.

The design work for three new outlets is already underway. During the meeting, Khasbulatov emphasised that actual construction will take four to five months, while the process of getting various agreements can take two years.

BUILDING TO BEGIN IN THREE MONTHS

Yakovlev said that time will be shortened as much as possible. This is necessary, he said, if McDonald's is going to begin building in three months, once all the documents are confirmed.
