Young people most likely to chew gum - Brief Article

Research by Taylor Nelson Sofres, published by Haymarket Business Publications, has looked at chewing gum consumption in the UK. The research found a marked contrast between younger and older consumers, with 85% of the 65 age group claiming they had never chewed gum compared to only 16% of 16-24 year olds.

The largest gum consumers were the 16-24 age group, with 33% claiming they chewed gum every day. The research found that men and women differ little in their gum chewing habits, with 18% of men and 17% of women chewing gum everyday.
