Four fight it out for flour business - Company News - Goodman Fielder - Brief Article

Eurofood, July 18, 2002

According to reports in the Australian press, four firms have lodged bids for the flour milling assets of Australian food producer Goodman Fielder.

Grain traders AWB and Ausbulk, and a joint venture between US giant Cargill and Graincorp are believed to be the four groups vying to gain control of the Goodman Fielder activities, which are estimated at between AU$150m (90.3m [euro]) and AU$200m. No difficulties are anticipated regarding any possible deal, as the four bidders are not already involved in flour milling in Australia.
