Singapore Food Industries (SFI) which recently launched a take over bid for UK food firm S Daniels, has reported a strong positive response from the offer. SFI said it had 53.65% of shares that it did not already own. With the extra 53.65%, SFI now holds a total commanding stake of 83.55% in S Daniels, owners of the New Covent Garden Soup Company.

SFI said its offer, which valued the company at some S$46m (25.8m [euro]) will remain open for the remaining shareholders to sell if they wish.
