Youth not wasted
Entrepreneur, Oct, 2003 by Ryan Emge
I was impressed by Karen Spaeder's editorial on "Why Age Doesn't Matter" (www.entrepreneur.com/article/ 0,4621,309677,00.html). I find that the older I get, the more constraints I put on my ideas. This is why I've finally realized I should do what I want now and not later, when more and more constraints, stress and fatigue set in.
I am 24 years old and have begun working on combining two areas (information technology and architecture) into a new field called "Information Assurance," where the focus is on securing these two areas. I've worked in each field, and I am also currently co-developing a [college] major specific to my field that is governmentally funded by the National Security Agency. I have a lot of energy, enthusiasm and direction and am continuing to push ahead.
