Here we grow! Watch for new products headed your way

Entrepreneur, Sept, 1998 by Rieva Lesonsky

For many of us, September is about beginnings. It is for me, anyway. No matter how many years I've been out of school, when September approaches, my mind seems to kick into a higher gear, and I'm ready to tackle a "new year."

At Entrepreneur, we're starting this new year off with a bang. This month, we launch our own line of paperback books. In the past, our books have been published by a few large book publishers (and some of those tides remain on the nation's bookshelves). But then we thought, "Hey, we're Entrepreneur magazine-why aren't we doing this ourselves?" And so, thanks to Susan Stone Russell, Entrepreneurs energetic director of marketing for the Business Products Division, and the wonderful folks at National Book Network, our book distributor, now we are.

Since most of Entrepreneur's subscribers are already business owners, you might not think you need to rush out and buy our first book, Entrepreneur Magazine's Start Your Own Business: The Only Start- Up Book You'll Ever Need. And you may be right. But depending on what stage your business is in, you just may find some golden nuggets of information in the book's 675 pages. And if not, you can always give the book to any budding entrepreneur you know.

Sound like a blatant plug for our new book? Well, I won't deny it, it is. In all the years I've worked at this company, I can honestly say I have never been more excited about and proud of everything we're doing.

So whichever of our products you use, whether it's Entrepreneur, Business Start-Ups, Entrepreneur's HomeOffice, or Entrepreneur's Franchise & Business Opportunities; our business guides (see page 154); the 10,000 or so pages on www.entrepreneurmag.com; or our new line of books, be assured we're constantly striving to bring you the most and best entrepreneurial information available.

And we're not done yet. In the coming months, we'll expand our Web presence, send Entrepreneur subscribers an extra issue in 1999 (and no, it won't cost you) and publish even more books. In that regard, please indulge me as I publicly thank books managing editor Maria Markman, who has given up much of her life the past few months to make these books happen. Marla, you've done one helluva job, and I'm proud of you.
