Experts to Develop Uniform "Best Practices" - Brief Article

Health Management Technology, Oct, 2001

An international group of information security experts is developing a source of security standards based upon their "best practices and recommendations."

The Certified Information Systems Security Professional forum plans to create an articles archive on the Internet written by its members and other experts. The papers will cover such subjects as UNIX, virtual private networks, cyber crime, certification and authentication, metrics, firewalls, and network intrusion detection systems.

The first papers will appear later this year on the website for Commonly Accepted Security Practices and Recommendations (www.caspr.org).
