Healthcare Management Systems has introduced the Clinical Information System (CIS), a new software system that manages electronic medical information and provides electronic patient records. The system is a decision support tool that brings together all of the patient's clinical, financial and scanned data into one complete record. It uses a Windows-based point-and-click format that clinicians can use to access data from existing modules: medical records, patient accounting, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy and patient care nursing. Scanned data from outside the system such as patient authorizations and doctors' handwritten notes can also be presented in the electronic patient record.
