Put a Lock on Security - Company Operations

Health Management Technology, Jan, 2001 by David Rizzo

UTMB has plans for expansion that will necessitate increasing the scope of the security umbrella, Siller says. The medical center's system is capable of supporting 512 readers, 65,000 employee cards and 20,000 alarm points. The largest projects wait for funding, but requests for adding onto the system come in on almost a daily basis to the police department staff.

"The ease of programming, and the flexibility of the system to interface with other systems helps us keep on top of the day-to-day security needs of the campus," says Siller. "I would recommend this electronic access control system to any hospital or university security manager."
