The one-stop shop for healthcare IT: the industry's largest trade show has something to offer for every attendee

Health Management Technology, Jan, 2005

For many exhibitors, attendees and media representatives, the annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society Conference and Exhibition is a feeding frenzy of meetings and demonstrations squeezed into several intense days of nonstop activity.

However, as intimidating an experience as it may seem--or be--few of almost 20,000 attendees would pass on this unique opportunity to learn what the healthcare IT industry has to offer, from medication management, radiology information systems and point-of-care devices to scheduling, claims processing and managed care applications.

Here is a sample of what some of more than 700 exhibitors will be showcasing at HIMS S 2005, Feb. 13-17, in Dallas.

Motion Computing M1400 Tablet PCs enable healthcare practitioners to access and enter real-time information in any situation: with patients, in hallway consultations, on-call or at their desks.

Motion will exhibit the clipboard-sized M1400, which features: a 12.1-inch, wide-angle display; Intel Centrino mobile technology; and Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. Using digital ink with Motion's Speak Anywhere audio technology, physicians can automate the process of dictation. The M1400's security solutions include an integrated fingerprint reader and a software-based security layer, enabling multiple personnel within a facility to easily share a pool of machines while sensitive patient data remains secure. Combining standard Windows-based applications with networked medical applications, Motion's M1400 enhances the flow of information, without the technology getting in the way. www.rsleads.com/501ht-217
