SATA-based NAS filer

Health Management Technology, Jan, 2005

Suitable for telecommunications, imaging, remittance posting, unified messaging, Internet filtering and blade server storage, the NetFORCE 700L is a serial ATA-based NAS filer that lets workgroups, departments and small organizations consolidate storage, share information and reduce storage management costs. The entry-level appliance provides: up to 1.6 TB of network storage capacity in a 1U, 19-inch enclosure; hot-swappable SATA hard disk drives; and dual Gigabit Ethernet ports. Its operating system offers a journalized file system to ensure data integrity and checkpoints for rapid recovery of damaged or deleted files. Other functionalities include cross-platform heterogeneous file sharing, NDMP-compliant backup and SNMP monitoring. Optional ProMirror software allows organizations with satellite offices and no local IT expertise to replicate the information at these locations to a larger NetFORCE filer for disaster recovery, backup or other data management purposes.
