Bringing another good thing to life - Brief Article - Product Announcement

Health Management Technology, Feb, 2002

GE Medical Systems has introduced GE Centricity, a new integrated information system. With GE Centricity, a Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) is combined with Radiology Information Systems (RIS) so disparate patient information can be integrated into one database and a single desktop application. The system allows for a secure log on at any time from inside or outside the healthcare system, with access capabilities for a complete patient profile, including medical history, online orders, prior reports, related exams, demographics, technologists' notes, the reason for the patient's visit, and information from the referring physician. GE Centricity is also available through GE's Application Service Provider (ASP) model, called GE Centricity ASP, as well as with an integrated voice recognition module to streamline reporting workflow.
