Surgical Instrument Management software helps hospital staff ensure that the correct surgical instruments and trays are available when and where they are needed. Its features include: simplifying the tray assembly process; facilitating reduction of instrument and tray inventories, as well as instrument repair and replacement costs; pinpointing tray status and location; improving utilization rates; automatically alerting staff about deviations in sterilization procedures; and heightening accountability, utilizing industry-standard bar coding, Internet and wireless technologies such as 802.11b, and Microsoft Windows CE operating system for handheld devices, the software allows users to: print count sheets and bar code labels, including exception labels; associate count sheets with unique trays; record sterilization contents, mechanical results and biological/chemical test information; and capture and verify tasks with bar code scanning.
