Speech rec system for practices

Health Management Technology, April, 2004

VoxNotes is a speech recognition based medical documentation and workflow management system designed to help group practices improve physician efficiency and productivity, reduce labor costs associated with transcription and chart pulls, and streamline operations. The VoxNotes Provider Module presents a daily patient schedule for the physician and acts as a patient documentation checklist. Once a patient is selected, the dictate mode is activated, allowing the physician to create notes using speech recognition. As the notes are dictated, the physician can send them to a third-party editor for proofreading and editing. The VoxEditor Module presents the assigned notes to the editor. When the editor is finished, the physician is alerted to review and sign them. The physician can use the VoxReview Module to insert a Medicare-, Medicaid- or JCAHO compliant electronic signature, put the notes on the practice letterhead and fax them to a referring physician, or send them to an EMR system.
